NorthStar Engineering moved into a new office building in mid-January, 2006. The new facility provides us with 8,000 square feet of space, compared to approximately 5,000 square feet at our old facility which we occupied for 20 years.
The civil and surveying departments at NorthStar Engineering provided the site layout and design. Our building design department was involved heavily in the design and engineering of the building and produced the following 3-D model in the process. You will need the Autodesk DWF Viewer to see the model.

The contractor for the project was Conroy Construction. The electrical was handled by Egan Electric and the mechanical was taken care of by McClelland Air Conditioning. Alpine Landscaping addressed our landscaping needs.
Throughout the design and construction, we strived to provide a building that covered all aspects of green building including sustainable site development, water efficiency, energy efficiency, materials and resources and indoor environmental quality. To achieve this goal, the LEED-NC rating system was used as the roadmap. Version 2.1 of the rating system was current at the time of construction. The Chico Enterprise Record provided a write-up on the building on January 1, 2006. Our LEED scorecard illustrates the credits we went after.
