Masonry – A built-up construction or combination of building units or materials of clay, shale, concrete, glass, gypsum, stone or other approved units bonded together with or without mortar or grout or other accepted method of joining.
Member Depth – The dimension of a member measured in the plane of a cross section perpendicular to the neutral axis.
Modulus of Elasticity – Ratio of normal stress to corresponding strain for tensile or compressive stresses below the proportional limit of the material.
Modulus of Rigidity – Ratio of unit shear stress to unit shear strain for unit shear stress below the proportional limit of the material.
Mortar – A plastic mixture of approved cementitious materials, fine aggregates and water used to bond masonry or other structural units. |
